Transcend is delighted to continue its sponsorship and support of the local Kent rugby club, Deal and Betteshanger “The Lions”. With a dedicated team of players, coaches and supporters, they regularly punch above their weight when playing other clubs. A combination of strong culture and courageous performances means that they always deliver a great game of rugby for the fans.
With a mid-table finish last season, they hope to improve on that position this year and Transcend is proud to be associated with the Lions for the third year running ! You never know, perhaps our strapline of “Shaping a culture to excel” can give the Lions some extra inspiration this season…
Transcend is now in its third year as a sponsorship partner for the first XV team and the financial support allows us to buy high quality kit for the players. We all appreciate this support and see it as part of our club continuing to develop it’s own culture and performance – topics that I know everyone at Transcend is passionate about.Richard Barker
Our Managing Director, Paul Glover, explains “We started our rugby journey with The Lions in 2015 and have very much enjoyed our association with the club, it’s family-friendly ethos and strong values. We are, therefore, delighted to continue sponsorship for a 3rd season and hopefully can continue to help shape the culture of the team and wider club in 2017/18 !!”.
Richard Barker, the club’s Director of Sponsorship & Grants, elaborates on the club’s ethos below:
“Here at Deal and Betteshanger, we strive to provide a place for those of all ages to play rugby in a safe and secure environment and for members and supporters to enjoy the game, facilities and hospitality. One of the many strengths of our Club is that the players play for their club with their mates and we believe this ethic supports the true values of traditional Club rugby. Encouraging the local kids away from their tablets, computer screens or street corners and encouraging them to our Club allows us to help them with life skills such as respect, companionship, and discipline. It also gives them an enriching experience of playing rugby whilst also keeping physically and mentally fit. ”
“Because of this we, as a Club owe it to the players, members, visitors and sponsors to ensure that we are the most efficient, welcoming, organised Club in the area. All of this activity costs money and without the continued support and partnership we have with our sponsors, including Transcend, we would not be able to take the Club forward in this way with sufficient financial stability – for this support, we are extremely grateful.
